Looking for Moose

Moose are usually found in "boggy" areas
so we checked 3 places the night before, nothing

this night we checked again at 3 places, then coming back
we saw something

Both had gone in the bush and we were surprised
at how close to us they came out.

They walked a little farther an went in the water

posed for a picture in the evening sun

this was so special

you can see the difference in the pictures, with and without sun

we were so blessed

Psalm 115:
May you be blessed by the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
16 The highest heavens belong to the Lord,
but the earth he has given to mankind.

Little Doe, Algonquin

first order of business, securing the food
note for next time, don't use the hammer for a weight

see our food hanging in the tree? worked very well

we had this pretty bush on our camp site

with returning butterflies on it

the map is waterproof but this way it doesn't blow out of the canoe

looking for Moose

Seeing only beavers

Dishes, the water was very clear but the tree flowers accumulated a bit sometimes, other times they went away

we swam a few times daily

This little Mosquito tent worked well

and accommodated both of us

but mostly we sat out in the open

Eating from the garden

we had endive 2x already

and the kale went in the freezer

the plants look a bit naked but are already growing back

in a pillowcase in the freezer
no bugs yet, and if you do it like this
all through the summer there are hardly any bugs

Haying 36 bales

In the pasture was a newly seeded part
the harvester found to many small rocks (it was a gravel hill)
so we baled the rest

and here there was hardware in the grass, likely a piece of fence wire, we hope we baled it up

Rien was going to take a picture but the settings had changed in one of our pockets

this one on his phone is better
