cleaning slats

cleaning the slats

The hay bales we were feeding recently were harvested when
the baler didn't use enough knives

narrow, but it just fits

now the heifers pull the hay onto the slats and it can't go through
so we had to remove the mess now we are starting different bales

Look at the snow on the milkhouse
it came down this morning
you wouldn't want any kids wandering around while that happens

workshops John's nursery and Chalkboard sign

chalk the back of the design

then trace around the design
Julia McEachern was the teacher

take the paper off and you know where to put your colours

not bad, just not centered enough

the workshops were part of 'Celebrate Spring" at the CRC

Janet Cox did a workshop putting some planters together

I liked that she put herbs in a planter

love the planter itself too
looks like a birch tree

workshop from the plumber's wife

Paula Coffey is the "plumber's wife"

she is a successful business woman, with lots of great ideas

She likes to make a "story board"
with colours that compliment each other

start with something you love and build around it

never been to her store in Arthur yet, but I will

I just like the way she combines things

Manure

Time to get the manure out
but as you can see, we still have some snow

It's very high the overflow is likely closed with dried out manure
once there is enough pressure it will open
glad we have an overflow to the pit under the new part of the barn

Quilts for MCC

Thursday in the winter

there is a very dedicated group

of quilters

they do a lot of work

sewing and stitching

I hadn't been there is a long time
they don't make knots anymore but stitch a few times crossing the threat

At last count

they have made about 50 quilts again this year
so colourful, they will be distributed through MCC

they are almost done but as you can see
it is still winter
